Look At Them Now

Sprouts After A Few Days
Originally uploaded by Elmoisamonster.
Only after a few washings, necessary to stimulate germination, these sprouts are now stretching all over the mason jar, which in turn has created a bit of infighting amongst the once cooperative group.

Tune in next time to find out what will be the catalyst to either burst their tires on this seemingly endless journey or bring them closer together like pickles in a pickle jar.

Jealousy in the Sprouting Community Ensues...

More Sprouting Seeds
Originally uploaded by Elmoisamonster.
With the alfalfa seeds making the envied cut for this mission the wait is over. Those in the losing end for the running, broccoli seeds, green peas and lentils, all had something to say about the process of choosing those who have been selected. Green peas may have been the most vocal proclaiming, "there is an obvious bias in this decision making process, for the alfalfa sprouts are the smallest in size making the motives sizist." When asked how that would be different if green peas had been chosen, being the largest of the prospective seeds in the group up for selection, the response was silence, and then the green pea spokespea said, "no comment," then covered its face from the flash of cameras and hurried on into its pod for a getaway.

Making the Cut

Alfalfa Sprouting Seeds

Here today, we've made some difficult decisions, and have now narrowed it down to a select few candidates. The chosen ones are... the alfalfa sprouts!
Now that that deliberation is over we must choose a select few to carry on. Just a tablespoon will enjoy this opportunity of a life time. One alfalfa sprout seed was so overjoyed that it claimed it would be the first to sprout once exposed to water. What an astounding remark!

What better way to end, or for that matter, start a day than with a hot blue cornbread, freash figs and a delicious parfait. That chocolate mousse looking stuff you see, I made that from scratch. The layers consist of soy yogurt, chocolate mousse, turkish mulberries, crazins and topped off with a sprig of spearmint.

October Day

Whispy Clouds

This was the amazing view of leaf like clouds over my city of Minneapolis. You just cannot beat those so clear it's scary days of October light, when the jet stream is set up just right and the high pressure keeps particles in the sky to a minimum. The colors are so vibrant and reflections on windows look like the real thing. I miss October already. for those of you who don't know, we had one of the longest falls in some time here in Minnesoootahhh! (Note for those of you who are not from Minnesoootahhh, when you say the name you could be mistaken for someone who is). Until next year October sky.

Yes, I was a band geek. Not anymore, well at least I don't have the clothing to prove it, since I have donated all of these articles which I no longer wear. The list includes t-shirts from cross country running, cross country skiing, track and field and some random football tee I bought, for our team (school's team) won state back in '92 when I was in middle school and I thought I was cool to wear this shirt and show my pride. LOL, what a dork.

I VOTED!

I VOTED!

You should too! Read below to find out a few reasons why.

Election Day

That's right, remember to vote and fulfill your democratic duties, or you can be one of those people that complain about the system and how corrupt it is and then continue to rant and rave and never do anything in order to change that facet of politics. This is especially true when it comes to local elections where issues directly impact our lives and those of our neighbors, yes national elections do have an impact, such as signaling to the world that our foreign policy is to carry a big stick and not be careful with what we do with it.
Numerous US cities and their mayors are leading the way in reducing our impact on the environment by pushing for stricter standards, thereby creating new industries that keep our economies diverse and strong while adding jobs to the market. Those who hunt, fish or are simply outdoor enthusiasts all have a common bond to protect nature, for example reducing mercury escaping from coal power plants is an issue that units multiple organizations and citizens. Preservation of wetlands is another such issue that these and many other groups find common ground on. You can and do have a direct impact of things that happen around you, so take action and do something about it.
Vote!
